West Bromwich Albion are expected to offload winger Grady Diangana before the transfer window slams shut, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
The 25-year-old has fallen out of favour at the Hawthorns and is yet to make a first-team appearance this season due to injury, but reports suggest that he will leave the Championship side before Friday’s deadline.
Who is Grady Diangana?
The English winger was a product of the West Ham United academy and rose through the ranks, whilst enjoying a successful loan spell at the Hawthorns, which led to his permanent switch to the Championship side in September 2020.
Diangana has made over 120 appearances for West Bromwich Albion to date, scoring 15 goals and assisting a further 11. He can also play anywhere along the front three adding versatility to any side that lands him this summer.
West Bromwich Albion have enjoyed a successful start to the campaign, picking up seven points from their opening four matches. They began with a defeat against Blackburn Rovers but are since unbeaten in their previous three league games.
This began with a 3-2 win against Swansea City, before holding Leeds to a 1-1 draw. On Saturday, the Baggies clinched a 4-2 win against ten-man Middlesbrough with the likes of John Swift and Jeremy Sarmiento grabbing goals.
According to Alan Nixon, both Leeds United and Burnley are interested in landing the winger this summer, with West Bromwich Albion hopeful of selling him as a way to raise funds.
Writer’s View
Diangana is a very talented winger who has fallen on tough times over the last few months and is yet to feature in all competitions this season.
However, he would be a strong attacking option for either side that has been linked, due to his pace, dribbling ability and overall effectiveness in the final third.
