Sean Dyche is ready to sell five senior players this summer in order to raise funds for a £20million move for Sheffield United’s Iliman Ndiaye, according to Alan Nixon.

The newspaper journalist reported on Patreon on Sunday (18 June) that Dyche is willing to cash in on Jordan Pickford, Demarai Gray, Neal Maupay, Mason Holgate and Amadou Onana to boost the club’s transfer budget.

It is understood that Senegal striker Ndiaye, 23, is a top target for Dyche and Everton play to go to £20million in the bidding for him.

However, it is understood that Marseille’s interest is growing and that could throw a spanner in the works for the Toffees manager, who tried to sign Ndiaye initially in January.

The ex-Boreham Wood forward is now in the final year of his contract at Bramall Lane and Nixon claims the French-born ace sees Marseille as a “dream destination”.

Wrong move

Everton cannot be seriously considering selling all of those players?

While there’s an obvious need to sign a new forward or two – or three – can we really be pinning that much hope on Ndiaye to be the man to finally get Everton firing on all cylinders in the attack?

Last season, he scored 14 goals in 46 Championship matches for Sheffield United as they won promotion to the Premier League.

It’s hardly an inspiring goal tally.

He did also provide 11 assists in the league, which is incredible for a striker, who can also drop deep into more of a number 10 role.

But Eveton need goals and they’re not going to get them in abundance by selling off players like Gray, who’s proven in the Premier League, and other players to fund signings from the Championship.

We’ll take Ndiaye but not for the cost that’s being mooted.
