As Man United tries a $158 million transfer ruse, a $8 million Aston Villa player makes a shocking move.

According to the most recent transfer reports, one of Aston Villa’s 2018/19 promotion-winning players might start playing against them.

Anwar El Ghazi, a former forward for Aston Villa, might make an unexpected comeback to English soccer.

The 28-year-old is presently a free agent after joining Eredivisie team PSV for one season before leaving. He is still unsigned, but last week, transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano reported that a Saudi Pro League team had expressed interest in him and that a Premier League squad had made an offer.

El Ghazi Makes Vow To EvertoniansNow that it has been revealed, Manchester United may think about making a play for the forward. According to a Daily Mail story, a move for Al Ghazi may be in the works given the uncertainty surrounding Antony and Jadon Sancho.

After the Premier League squads were filed, the Red Devils had a void in their lineup, and El Ghazi could, albeit momentarily, fill it before preparations for the winter transfer window were made. Before the international break, he was seen visiting the Emirates Stadium for Man Utd’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal.

El Ghazi joined the Villa in 2018 on a season-long loan from Lille, giving him some decent English football experience. He contributed significantly to the team’s promotion from the Championship in 2019 and scored five goals in 31 games before his transfer was made permanent for a whopping £8 million.

He appeared in 119 games for Villa in total, scoring 26 goals and dishing out 11 assists during that time. El Ghazi joined Everton but only made two appearances before being traded to PSV for an estimated £3.5 million plus add-ons.

His contract, which was set to expire in the summer of 2025, was terminated by the Dutch squad after just one season with a team in the lineup. He scored nine goals in 33 games for the Dutch team last season but was released because he was one of their high earners.

El-Ghazi might start against Villa on December 26, 2023, before the rematch, which is scheduled to take place at Villa Park on Saturday, February 24, 2024, if he were to sign with United.
