BREAKING NEWS: They go into the game on the back…

Before Rangers’ match against Real Betis, the decision to fire Michael Beale was made public.
According to Daily Record reporter David McCarthy, Real Betis pose a “clear and present danger” to Michael Beale’s job as Rangers manager.

After defeating St. Johnstone 2-0 in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday, (16 September), Beale’s team enters this match.

Real Betis may be in the middle of the La Liga standings and have recently lost 5-0 to Barcelona at the Nou Camp, but McCarthy for the Daily Record argued that Real Betis, with wily old fox Manuel Pellegrini in charge, pose a clear and present danger to Michael Beale’s position as manager of Rangers.

“The judge will alter his black cap if a replay of Eindhoven’s rout occurs in Govan, even though the jury may still be out on Beale. And a pounding might not even be necessary.

Huge game

As is always the case in the Ibrox dugout, there is plenty of pressure on the manager to deliver results. But that pressure has been taken up a notch on current boss Beale after the club’s disappointing start to the new season.

As well as crashing out of the Champions League at the hands of PSV, the Gers lost the first Old Firm derby of the season to fierce rivals Celtic.

Making that defeat more painful was the fact that it came at Ibrox, and also how the hosts really didn’t put up much of a fight to try and get all three points.

Now, however, they have the chance to put such losses behind them and really pick up some momentum following the win against St Johnstone.

In a confidence booster, their upcoming opponents haven’t exactly been setting La Liga alight this season, and go into the tie at Ibrox on the back of a 5-0 defeat to Barcelona.
