BREAKING NEWS: “HE” has “SIGNED” a new contracts…

BBC Sport pundit blown away by Ezri Konsa development at Aston Villa

Alan Hutton, a former fullback for Aston Villa, is a wonderful addition to our exclusive columnist lineup. He will provide his thoughts on the most important Villa Park talking points each week.

Ezri Konsa signing a new, “long-term contract” with Aston Villa makes Alan Hutton happy.

Ezri Konsa: Aston Villa sign Brentford defender in £12m deal - BBC SportOn Wednesday, September 20, it was officially announced that Konsa, 25, had signed new terms with Villa Park. According to The Athletic, the defender’s new contract is for five years and will expire in the summer of 2028.

Jonda has made 145 appearances across all competitions since moving from Brentford in 2019 for a £12 million move.

Since Tyrone Mings and John McGinn all received new contracts, Hutton thinks Konsa, an ex-Charlton defender, should as well since he has been Villa’s go-to guy in the middle of the defense due to various injury concerns.

Villa Ne was informed by Hutton that “He totally deserves it.”

“He’s been outstanding, and he’s been the cornerstone of the defense,” someone said. He was joined by one because there had been a lot of change.

“He signed for £12 million a fair few years ago, and since then, he has played in many games and logged many minutes as the defender you have needed.

“Of course he has made blunders and lost goals. However, they play a high line, and he will take note of it.

It can be challenging, but in my opinion, given that John McGinn and Tyrone Mings recently signed new contracts, Konsa deserves to receive the same treatment.

Konsa has so far this season played every minute of every Aston Villa Premier League game.

It is uncertain if he will start against Legia Warsaw in the Europa Conference League group stage on Thursday night (21 September) in Poland.

Konsa began both games of the qualifying match against Hibs but was taken off in the 75th and 45th minutes of each game.
