‘They’d bite’: Alan Shearer says Liverpool have a player who will be worth £150m in January

According to Alan Shearer, Liverpool will “bite” if they are presented with a $150 million bid for Mo Salah in January.

It is well known that the Saudi first division is quite interested in luring the Egyptian player, who is undoubtedly the largest and most well-known in the Arabic league, to the Middle East.

“Again, I believe it depends on where they are if they know they will be returning in January with an absurd offer, at which point they will have time to recruit a replacement. The former Newcastle United striker said, “But £150m, I think they’d bite at £150m in January,” on the The Rest is Football podcast (as reported by the Liverpool Echo).

Nevertheless, it is unclear whether the Reds’ resolve would really break at such an offer, especially after £100 million increasing to £150 million in add-ons failed to work in the last window.

Most opportunities, 49 touches: Liverpool’s $34 million player was virtually impenetrable against LASK

$150m in January? We’ll wait.
On Thursday, Salah scored another goal in Europe, this one coming as a substitute, underscoring the significance of Salah to this Liverpool team and campaign.

We understand that it’s not completely improbable that the club finds a good long-term successor in the winter transfer window, but it would seem insane to get rid of a player who will unquestionably be worth the same amount of money – if not more! – in the summer of 2024.

The challenge is that, if he can maintain these performances even after the AFCON, Jurgen Klopp and company, as well as the public as a whole, will understandably find it difficult to accept the departure of a Reds great still in their relative prime.
