Major Zaha injury update after fears he had played final game for Crystal Palace and would miss relegation battle | The SunThe Blues players have all returned from their international commitments, and some of the stars are eager to make an impression on the new boss in his inaugural Premier League encounter.

Potter had only been employed a short time, but owing to unforeseen cancellations brought on by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s passing and the effects it had on football, his only appearance in the Blues dugout occurred during the draw against RB Salzburg 23 days ago.

It is now crunch time as the west Londoners face a demanding game schedule from now until the start of the FIFA World Cup in November after matches against Fulham and Liverpool were postponed to give Potter and his new coaching staff time to work with the group on the training fields.

Prior to Crystal Palace vs. Chelsea, Patrick Vieira compliments Todd Boehly for the Graham Potter choice.

To ensure that the English manager’s tenure under the new ownership gets off to a good start, it will be crucial to maximize squad depth and rotation. Unfortunately, Potter is already without four players at the beginning of this lengthy run because to a combination of illnesses and injury concerns.

They have successfully completed their rehab stages, therefore everything is perfect. In his pre-game press conference on Friday, NG [Kante] said that he had just completed some light training on the team’s grass practice field.

The two illness concerns come with full-back Marc Cucurella and young midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka meaning that Ben Chilwell and one of Conor Gallagher or Ruben Loftus-Cheek could feature depending on the formation.

He added: “A bit of illness for Marc Cucurella and Carney, apart from that everybody is fit.”

For their opponents Crystal Palace, they will have players returning from injury but three remain sidelined for this fixture and one of the trio will not be Wilfried Zaha who played during the international break within Europe for his national side Ivory Coast.

“They all came back in good shape. But we still have players such as Nathan Ferguson, Macca [James McArthur] and Jack Butland who are still out,” Patrick Vieira said in his own press conference.

With all this injury news taken into consideration, a total of seven players or even more could be missing when the team news is released at 2 PM on Saturday afternoon.
