Everton attacker Demarai Gray makes admission on his poor goal return.
Everton star Demarai Gray has made an admission on his attacking output, as reported by the club’s official website.
The former Leicester City man posted a return of just four goals in 33 appearances across the 2022/23 season, as he made a vow to improve for the upcoming campaign.
Gray will be aiming to return to pre-season boosted by his involvement with the Jamaica national team, as they prepare for Gold Cup action, starting on Sunday against the USA in Chicago on Sunday (0300 UK time).
The need and hunger for improvement is encouraging to hear from the play who will need to fully grasp any early season opportunities under Sean Dyche, after he was in and out of the side during the tense Premier League run-in, over recent months.
“I need to keep improving and bring what I can to the club,” he said.
“Obviously, the season is done now and I’ve got internationals to focus on but after that, I want to come back in the best shape possible.
“That means mixing my qualities with what the manager requires from me and hopefully, I can do that on a consistent basis, because being an attacker, you are expected to get goals and assists so I want to up my numbers.”

The exposure to a different football environment should hopefully have benefits for Gray, personally, as well as a knock-on effect for the club.
Whilst his future under Dyche isn’t guaranteed, he is a talented player who should be performing better than he has been.
A new season will hopefully see improvement all over the squad, not just for Gray, but that remains to be seen ahead of a very busy period for the manager. He will need to work under relative financial pressure to make the changes to his group of players that are required if the Toffees are to push up the table.
Gray is a capable attacker but he will have his work cut out to hold down a starting spot in the upcoming campaign.
His time with Jamaica is another chance to show what he is all about, to Everton as much as to other potential interested suitors.
