Alan Brazil and Gabby Agbonlahor clashed live on air as a prediction was made ahead of the West Ham game against Aston Villa on Sunday (22 October).
Speaking on talkSPORT on Thursday (19 October, 08:26am), pundit Agbonlahor said he was going to the match as a supporter, with host Brazil arguing that he would be working the fixture instead.
The pundit then predicted the “dangerous” Hammers to draw with Villa in what he thinks will be an “entertaining game” at Villa Park.
“I’m going to this game,” said Agbonlahor. “I’m looking forward to it. I think it’s one of them games where I can see a draw.”
“What do you mean you are going?’ asked Brazil. “You are working.”
“I’m not working,” insisted Agbonlahor. “I’m going to watch my beloved Villa play against West Ham. It will be an entertaining game I think, end to end. But West Ham are dangerous. When I say we’ll win, we don’t win. So if I say we’ll draw, maybe we will win.”
“So you are saying you can’t get things right?” asked Brazil.
“Exactly,” responded Agbonlahor.
Hard to predict
It’s hard to predict which way this one will go after both clubs have experienced solid starts to the Premier League season and are competing for European places.
That means Agbonlahor could be right in his prediction that the match may end up in a draw, with the two sides cancelling each other out at Villa Park.
Villa have now gone four games unbeaten in the league and they will be difficult to stop going forwards after scoring 19 goals in their opening eight fixtures.
But the Hammers have to be confident that they can go their and get a result because these are the games that could have a major impact on where they finish in the league this season.
While some caution will be taken, there should be opportunities for us to hit them on the counterattack, so we have to take those chances when they come along if we want to get something out of the game.
