Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl has delivered his verdict on Marvin Johnson. The 32-year-old had been banished from training by Xisco Munoz casting his future into doubt.

The left-sided player was integral as Wednesday won promotion from League One during 2022/23. He claimed a pretty impressive 14 assists from 50 appearances but Munoz didn’t fancy him.

ohnson is now back in training and Rohl has been quizzed on the Wednesday player. He will hope to have a chance of playing in front of the Hillsborough faithful in the coming weeks.

Rohl discusses future of Johnson

It does look like a good sign for Johnson given what Rohl has said this afternoon. The player will seemingly get a chance to shine under the new manager and he has a decision to make.

Rohl told Yorkshire Live: “I had a good conversation with Marvin and I spoke about what I expect from him on and off the pitch. We took him into training and we’ll look at the data and if it’s right we’ll decide whether to bring him back into the squad.”

Putting Johnson straight back into the Wednesday picture isn’t quite so simple. The 25-man squad right now doesn’t include the wide player and he will need to be registered before he can feature.

Johnson deserves Wednesday chance

Hopefully, a resolution to this whole situation can take place. In fairness to Rohl, it sounds as though the German manager is very keen to get this sorted and take a look at Johnson.
