Potential to be a College Football Playoff spoiler for the Miami Hurricanes.

The Miami Hurricanes can make their season by being a college football player spoiler to Florida State and Louisville in the next two weeks. Miami plays at Florida State on Saturday and hosts Louisville on November 18. Florida State is fourth and Louisville 11th in the CFP rankings released on Tuesday.

Florida State enters the game on Saturday versus the Miami Hurricanes with a 9-0 record. Louisville is 8-1 ahead of its game versus Virginia on Saturday. The Cardinals’ sole loss was at Pittsburgh last month. Florida State’s closest games were a 31-29 win over Boston College and a 31-24 overtime victory over Clemson.

The Miami Hurricanes will attempt to end a two-game losing streak to Florida State. The Seminoles ended a four-game Miami winning streak in the series in 2021. Following a 31-28 loss at Florida State in 2021, Miami was blown out 45-3 in 2022. FanDuel lists Miami as a 13.5-point underdog at Florida State on Saturday.

Miami leads the all-time series with Louisville 11-3-1. The Hurricanes are currently on a two-game win streak against the Cardinals. Miami defeated Louisville 52-27 in 2019. Jarren Williams set the school record in that game with six touchdown passes. In 2020 Miami won 47-34 at Louisville.

If Louisville wins its next two games they will clinch a spot in the ACC Championship Game. With one win, Louisville will still be in a good position to earn a berth in the ACC Championship game. Louisville is currently 5-1 in the ACC. Louisville defeated five of the six ACC teams who currently have two losses.

North Carolina is the only ACC team with two losses Louisville didn’t defeat this season. The Cardinals and Tar Heels don’t play in 2023. If Louisville wins out they will have an outside shot at the College Football Playoff. All 10 teams ranked ahead of Louisville in the CFP are undefeated or have one loss.
