REPORT: TOTTENHAM NOW ACTIVELY TRYING TO SIGN 27-YEAR-OLD, IN TALKS

The London and Premier League rivals Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur are in negotiations over David Raya, according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti on Twitter.

Tottenham have reportedly shown the most interest in the 27-year-old Spain international goalkeeper.

However, Spurs are unable to convince Brentford to sell Raya at a lower fee.

According to Galetti, Brentford want between £39 million and £43 million in transfer fees for the Spaniard.

Galetti wrote on Twitter (9:11pm, June 9, 2023): “David #Raya, to date the only club in talks with #Brentford is #Tottenham.

“#THFC shown the most interest in the  GK so far: they are trying to lower the request of #BFC (around €45/50m), leveraging on his final year of the contract.  #Transfers“.

Could Tottenham Hotspur sign David Raya from Brentford?

In our view, Tottenham Hotspur could be able to sign David Raya from Brentford in the summer transfer window.

Yes, the Bees are an established club in the Premier League who will not want to sell any of their best players for a fee below their valuation, but money talks.

If Tottenham are willing to pay between £30 million and £35 million and the goalkeeper himself is ready to make the move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, then a transfer could happen this summer.

Tottenham are one of the biggest clubs in England and regularly challenge for the Premier League top four.

A move to Spurs would one hugely appealing to Raya.
