While Mario Cristobal and his coaching staff start the preparation process for his Miami Hurricanes against Louisville in the Canes’ final home contest, basically a normal week, college football is entering its most volatile time overall. The hirings and firings of college football coaches are here like they are each year.
Michigan State parted ways with Mel Tucker on Sep. 27, while Texas A&M parted ways with Jimbo Fisher on Nov. 12, just as two examples. There will be more head coaches that receive the boot. A couple of notes on that as it relates to the Hurricanes and their recruiting efforts, with the Aggies a prime example.
First off, the answer is yes if Canes fans are wondering about A&M’s recruits possibly being options for the 2024 Miami recruiting class. In particular, Miami could look into former top target Isendre Ahfua, an interior offensive lineman from Seattle (Wash.) O’Dea. His final three were A&M, Miami, and Utah.
Also of note, talented safety *+-+
is from Blountstown (Fla.) High School, the same program as current Miami defensive tackle commitment Artavius Jones. With Miami’s need for defensive line recruits, a couple of other players committed to the Aggies to note would be Dealyn Evans from Longview (Texas) Pinetree and Dominick McKinley from Lafayette (La.) Acadiana, both national defensive tackle prospects.
The current Aggies’ commitment list might also possess a player that Miami decides to go after that it did not already because of that prospect’s senior film, too. One just does not know. The Aggies are also but one example of soon-to-be recruiting opportunities.
The next month will see more head coaches being ousted. When that happens, recruits will inevitably look at their college choices once again. As good as this Miami coaching staff is showing to be on the recruiting trail it will not be surprising if at least one or two commitments to other schools end up signing with the Canes.
