Liverpool make move to sign Bundesliga star.

Liverpool are on the hunt for further reinforcements having completed the signing of Alexis Mac Allister earlier this month.

The Argentine joined the Reds from Brighton and Hove Albion and will add much needed depth to manager Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner will all leave the club when their contracts expire at the end of the month, while loanee Arthur Melo is set to return to parent club Juventus.

Last term, Liverpool failed to qualify for next term’s Champions League after a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League table, meaning that the Merseyside outfit will instead have to settle for a place in the Europa League.

Now, it appears that Liverpool have made contact over a possible move for another midfielder as Klopp looks to bolster his squad.

As per 90min, the Reds have made contact with the representatives of RB Leipzig star Dominik Szoboszlai over a potential move this summer.

Szoboszai, 22, joined Leipzig from RB Salzburg back in 2021 and has since made 91 appearances for his current club across all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing 22 assists.

The Hungary international is versatile and able to play in a number of roles including as an attacking midfielder and on either flank.

It is claimed that the player himself is interested in a move to Anfield, although it remains to be seen whether or not the Bundesliga side would be willing to sell him.

Liverpool could face stiff competition for the player’s signature, though, as a number of clubs from across Europe – including Newcastle United – are also believed to be interested.

Agreeing a deal with Leipzig could also prove tricky as the German side are currently demanding that the player’s release clause of approximately £70 million is met, the report claims.

Earlier this week, the Reds agreed to loan fellow attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho to Leipzig for the upcoming season.
