PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are adding depth to their defensive backfield this week.

The Steelers have added Eric Rowe, a former Philadelphia Eagle, New England Patriot, Miami Dolphin and Carolina Panther, to their practice squad this week, All Steelers has learned.

With Elijah Riley having suffered an ankle injury against the Browns this past weekend, Rowe can be insurance for the back end of a thin Steelers secondary.

Rowe has not appeared in an NFL game since the final week of the 2022-23 season, when he recorded three tackles and a forced fumble for the Miami Dolphins against the New York Jets.

Rowe has spent eight seasons in the NFL, appearing in 100 total games and making 56 starts. He has 5 interceptions, 41 passes defended and 381 total tackles to his name. Rowe was a two-time Super Bowl Champion with the Patriots during his three years in New England.
