The Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers still haven’t taken the field, yet we can already feel some tension in the air.
Eagles star defensive player Haason Reddick made sure to stir the pot with his comments ahead of the game.
Simply put, he claimed the Niners did a lot of crying in the offseason and talked about a lot of “what ifs”, so he pretty much dared them to back the talk up at Lincoln Financial Field.
With that in mind, Skip Bayless took to his show “Undisputed” to warn Reddick about the potential repercussions of his words.
He stated that Reddick had been quite solid throughout the course of the season but wondered whether the rest of his teammates could back it up.
Bayless said that the Eagles defense hasn’t actually been that good, adding that Jalen Hurts has bailed them out more often than not.
Needless to say, both Richard Sherman and Keyshawn Johnson were less than impressed by Bayless’ take.
Even so, the Niners have had this game marked on their calendars all season long, and they’re going to make sure to make a statement when they visit the City of Brotherly Love.
Kyle Shanahan’s team is peaking at the right time, and even though their record isn’t as good as the Eagles’, they do have more than enough resources on both sides of the field to get the job done.
This will be the game of the week and perhaps of the year, and it’ll be interesting to see whether Reddick can back the talk up.
