NEWS NOW: Salford early Super League clash set for schedule change.

The fixtures for the upcoming Super League campaign were only announced last week however there has already been an amendment with Salford Red Devils’ clash with Hull KR being altered slightly.

Rovers open the season with an away trip to face city rivals Hull FC on Thursday 16th February as part of an epic opening night, however the Robins round three clash with Salford Red Devils is the game that has been altered.

Slated initially for Saturday 2nd March with a 3pm start, the game has now been bumped back to a 5.30pm kick-off instead, signifying the first alteration in the Super League calendar.

Both clubs took to their social media and club websites to confirm the news with the Red Devils sharing the news via X, formerly Twitter.

Their statement read: “There has been a slight kick-off change to our Betfred Super League Round 3 clash against Hull KR.

“As revealed last week, Salford Red Devils will travel to Leeds Rhinos on opening weekend, before returning home in Round 2, to face Castleford Tigers.

As yet it’s unclear why the change has been made but the fact it’s only a minor alteration shouldn’t cause any of the travelling KR support any trouble.

Rovers are looking to build on their impressive 2023 season in which they finished fourth in Super League, securing their first home play-off game since 2009.

In their first season with Willie Peters at the helm the Robins became one of the must watch sides and as such they’ve been able to attract a number of key signings to join the ambitious project that is underway at Craven Park
