Bulldogs flyer Josh Addo-Carr could be set for an unexpected move to Parramatta if he is released from his contract by Canterbury.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Parramatta has expressed interest in signing Addo-Carr and proposed a deal that involves a player swap.

The Eels would have to release a player, potentially a forward, to complete the deal.

Sources close to Addo-Carr told Wide World of Sports’ The Mole that the former Wests Tigers and Storm flanker was disappointed with the level of support afforded to him by the club.

However, following the make-or-break meeting with Gould, the Bulldogs supremo declared that Addo-Carr was valued by the club.

“Josh has had an eventful couple of weeks. He was most apologetic and keen to redeem himself,” Gould told Wide World of Sports earlier this month.

“Pressure and stress can manifest itself in different ways at times.

“We will get him back on track.”

The Eels recently signed Manly centre Morgan Harper on a one-year deal to build depth, but the addition of Addo-Carr could provide the X-factor out wide that the club needs to surge back into the competition’s top eight.

Since moving to Canterbury in 2022, Addo-Carr has scored 27 tries in 38 appearances.

The Eels and Bulldogs are yet to comment on the matter.

The news comes after the Bulldogs signed Warriors forward Josh Curran on a multi-year deal on Wednesday.
