Despite a lot of worry that Everton will not have a lot of money to spend this transfer window, and yet the latest transfer news suggests otherwise.
It comes from Sacha Tavolieri in Belgium, who took to Twitter to reveal that the Toffees have ‘put €40m on the table’ for El Bilal Touré, currently contracted to UD Almería in Spain.
Not only that, but three other Premier League clubs in Wolverhampton Wanderers, Nottingham Forest and Fulham are all ‘keen to join the fight’.
The news is a surprising one, as Everton’s finances have been under the spotlight for some time, while Wolves have also been known to have some issues with their bank balance.
The same cannot be said for Nottingham Forest and Fulham, who might have some reserves in the tank.
Everton, on top of the transfer fee, are said to have offered the player a five-year deal worth €4.3m/year before tax.
If the Toffees have indeed offered that amount up front, that would be enough to trigger the player’s release clause, hence why talks about a contract will have already taken place.
As for Wolves, Fulham and Nottingham Forest, it seems they will also have to go that high if they want to stand a chance at signing the 21-year-old, who scored seven goals and assisted another two in 22 appearances for the Spanish side last season.
