Foot Mercato have now claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are expected to step up their interest in signing Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo.
Over the past few weeks, most reports have focused on Tottenham’s pursuit of Edmond Taposba and Micky Van de Ven but Alasdair Gold revealed on Football.London over the weekend that Adarabioyo also remains near the top of Spurs’ centre-back wishlist.
The journalist added that Spurs watched the 25-year-old closely for much of last season and are now seriously considering making an offer for him.
Spurs to push ahead with contacts for Adarabioyo
Foot Mercato have now also backed up Gold’s claim, stating that Tottenham are ‘keenly interested’ in the services of Adarabioyo.
The publication asserts that the North London club have already spoken to the centre-back’s entourage regarding a potential switch across London this summer.
It is alleged that Ange Posteclgou’s men ‘will soon’ contact Fulham to find out the kind of fee that the Cottagers are expecting for Adarabioyo, who has just one year left on his contract.
Spurs Web Opinion
Perhaps Spurs want to sign one of Taposba and Van de Ven for the left-sided centre-back role and Adarabioyo as cover for Cristian Romero on the right.
The Fulham man would certainly be an upgrade over both Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon, and he is arguably a more complete version of Tanganga.
