REPORT: AFTER ARSENAL INTEREST, TOTTENHAM NOW ACTIVELY TRYING TO SIGN ‘UNBELIEVABLE’ WINGER.

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are now actively trying to sign Harvey Barnes, a player Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have also shown interest in.

According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Harvey Barnes from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Tottenham have “enquired” about Barnes.

This suggests that, after signing England international attacking midfielder James Maddison from Leicester already this summer, Spurs are now actively trying to bring Barnes from the Foxes to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as well.

However, Tottenham are facing stiff competition to secure the services of the winger, described as “unbelievable” by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in Metro in February 2021.

The Daily Mail have reported that Aston Villa and West Ham United have also enquired about Barnes, while Newcastle United are interested in him as well.

And there is also Arsenal, Tottenham’s bitter North London rivals.

On June 19, The Daily Mail reported that Arsenal are interested in Barnes as well, but it seems that the Gunners have not made an enquiry yet.

Tottenham Hotspur or Arsenal for Harvey Barnes?

In our opinion, if Tottenham Hotspur have already enquired about Harvey Barnes, then they are likely to win the race for the Leicester City winger ahead of bitter North London rivals Arsenal.

The Gunners are currently trying to sign Declan Rice from West Ham and Romeo Lavia from Southampton.

And Arsenal have not actually enquired; the Gunners have just shown interest.

Spurs are clearly being more active than Arsenal in trying to secure the services of Barnes, and if they make the right offer, then they could well be able to sign the 25-year-old.

Barnes made 32 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leicester last season.

The Leicester no. 7 scored 13 goals and gave one assist in those games.
