JUST NOW: David Prutton has delivered his prediction on Sheffield Wednesday clash with Hull city.

David Prutton has delivered his prediction on tomorrow’s clash between Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City at Hillsborough. The Owls will be in search of another win after beating Preston on Friday night.

Wednesday secured that win in hardworking fashion. Marvin Johnson scored the game’s only goal and he is one player who will be hoping to keep his place in the team tomorrow.

Danny Rohl has overseen a mini-revival at Wednesday since coming into the club. Wednesday do still have a lot of work to do in order to secure survival but they’ve looked far better and claimed some good results of late.

Prutton delivers verdict on Wednesday vs Hull

The Sky Sports pundit has been delivering his usual predictions ahead of tomorrow’s Championship games. The Owls will go into feeling confident but Prutton expects it to be a tough game.

He told Sky Sports: “That was a big win for Sheffield Wednesday at Preston. It keeps them within slim distance of safety, and that is something for Danny Rohl to work with.

“Hull have loftier ambitions and begin 2024 in the play-off places after their win over Blackburn. They will hope to kick on and have a shot at Wembley and promotion. All they can do is take in one step at a time, starting with a win on New Year’s Day.”

Prutton then proceeded to pick a 2-1 win for Hull when the Tigers face Wednesday tomorrow evening.

Wednesday will hope to prove Prutton wrong

It’s hard to knock the Sky Sports anchor for choosing a Hull win. They’ve been in fine form this season under Liam Rosenior and they will be heavy favourites to win this one.

However, Wednesday have had some good results of late. They defeated Blackburn on home soil, whilst they probably should have defeated Leicester who are the runaway leaders in the division.

Prutton was a Wednesday player back during his playing career. He won’t take any real satisfaction in predicting a win for Hull tomorrow and the Owls might actually enjoy being written off.
