As reported by FootballTransfers, Newcastle are next in the queue for Juventus’ Dejan Kulusevski if Tottenham fail to activate their £31m option-to-buy clause.
His future still firmly remains in Tottenham’s hands, but Newcastle are thought to be admirers of the Swede and ready to step in should there be any complications with this potential move to Spurs.
After what was a great start to his time in North London, the winger was somewhat underwhelming this season with just two goals in 37 games compared to five in 20 last year.
However, at just 23-years-old, he still has a lot of room to grow and is very much an Eddie Howe-type player. He’s hard-working, has bags of ability and will know fellow Swedish international Alexander Isak well from their time together with the national team.
It’s unlikely that Spurs will pass up on the chance to secure the right-sided winger, but he could be one to watch for Newcastle as we look to prepare our squad for the Champions League.
