The Dallas Mavericks had four players questionable heading into tonight’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns, including Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
Doncic (lower back tightness) and Irving (right thumb sprain), who suffered his injury Monday night in a loss to the Celtics, were new additions to the team’s injury report. Dante Exum (right plantar sprain), who has not played in a game since Jan. 1, and Seth Curry (left ankle sprain) were also questionable after missing last game. Dwight Powell (left eye corneal abrasion) was added to the injury report as out today.
Coach Jason Kidd revealed the statuses of all four questionable players in his pregame press conference. Doncic, Exum and Curry are all available.
Irving is now ruled out after he warmed up to test his injury, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
For the Suns, Eric Gordon (right wrist soreness) is now ruled out after missing Monday’s 115-113 victory over the Bulls with the injury.
Bol Bol (right foot soreness) will miss his sixth straight game, but coach Frank Vogel has said his injury is not long term. Damion Lee remains out after undergoing right meniscus surgery in the offseason.
Tonight’s matchup tips off at 6:30 p.m. MST and is a featured game as part of NBA Rivals Week. The Mavericks defeated the Suns 128-114 on the road on Christmas in the teams’ first meeting this season.
