Nebraska ace Jordy Bahl suffered a left knee injury in her debut start with the program on Thursday night.
Bahl had to be helped off the field after falling awkwardly falling in the 3rd inning against Washington on Thursday. Bahl exited the game trailing 2-0 and the Huskers went on to lose 8-0 in 5 innings.
On Friday, head coach Rhonda Revelle said Bahl’s knee would be evaluated when the team returns to Lincoln next week. That would seemingly rule Bahl out from participating in the remainder of Nebraska’s weekend at the Puerto Vallarta Challenge.
When healthy, Bahl is arguably the best pitcher in the country. She’s a two-time All-American and was the Sooners’ ace for each of the past two seasons. At Oklahoma, Bahl went 44-2 with a 0.99 ERA and 397 strikeouts across 71 appearances.
Nebraska has 3 games remaining at the Puerto Vallarta Challenge this weekend. The Huskers will then begin the Troy Cox Classic in New Mexico on Feb. 16.
