Is Nico the answer? USA Today Slams Tennessee’s With Biggest Question.

USA Today asked the biggest question for each SEC program heading into next season, and the Tennessee Volunteers are facing the same question everyone has asked.

USA Today went through an exercise where they asked the biggest question for each SEC program heading into next season. The question around the Tennessee Volunteers has been about quarterback Nico Iamaleava. He accounted for four touchdowns against Iowa in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl; it was an encouraging start, but the sample size is small.

With the College Football Playoff expanding to twelve teams in 2024, there’s a conceivable path for the Vols to make their first CFP in program history. However, this past season showed us that as long as head coach Josh Heupel is at the University of Tennessee, their success will revolve around the play he gets from the quarterback position.

USA Today’s Biggest Question for Tennessee

Is Nico the answer?

“Tennessee could have the breakout star of college football in new signal caller Nico Iamaleava. They could also have growing pains breaking in the young starter. The Volunteers will go as their quarterback goes which leaves a high ceiling and low floor for the team. We’ll have an idea of how good the Vols can be against the Oklahoma Sooners in Tennessee’s fourth game of the year.” – USA Today on Tennessee’s biggest 2024 question

The NCAA is currently investigating the University of Tennessee for its recruitment of Iamaleava. Tennessee has maintained all university employees’ innocence and labeled the allegations as ridiculous and unnecessary.
