Ian Poveda is hoping to get more games under his belt for Sheffield Wednesday after starring against Birmingham on Friday night.
The new kid on the block was speaking to Sky Sports.
So, what did the player actually say following his debut performance for the Owls? Let’s take a closer look…
What Ian Poveda hopes to achieve at Sheffield Wednesday
Well, it would appear as though Poveda is keen to make up for lost time on the fringes during his time with Wednesday.
Poveda was in scintillating form for the Owls on Friday as two goals for Ike Ugbo gave Danny Rohl’s team a very useful three points.
The 24-year-old has joined the Owls on an initial loan spell, although he will be out of contract at the end of the season.
Poveda claimed an assist during a decent run out on Friday night and after the game he spoke about his intentions for the season.
He told Sky Sports: “I really enjoyed myself, the lads are great and we’ve been working hard in the training sessions – I feel like we deserved the win…I feel like I’m at a stage in my career where I just need to be playing games, and the manager has put a lot of faith in me.”

Joe Crann was impressed with Poveda as Wednesday claimed a big win that gives the club a fighting chance in the battle against survival.
He claimed that Poveda had ‘dancing feet’ on Twitter and thought the player was absolutely brilliant.
Poveda claimed his assist in fantastic style and hopefully, the youngster can prove to be a classy signing made by the club.
Wednesday are still in the fight for survival and after the weekend’s results, they sit five points from safety in the second tier.
Rohl will know that his team are still up against it, but the result at the weekend does at least offer some fresh impetus.
Poveda looks like a shrewd loan signing already and the Owls will be hoping he can provide the spark required to keep Wednesday in the division.
