One unnamed Tottenham insider has said that Ange Postecoglou is not one to compromise on his principles and does not have any qualms about getting rid of those who are not on board with his ideas, The Times have revealed.
Over the last week, there have been plenty of reports about the positive first impression that Postecoglou had made on the players on the staff at Hotspur Way.
This included an update by Dan Kilpatrick, who wrote in The Evening Standard a few days ago that the new Spurs boss is very different to Antonio Conte, and is happy to let different departments get on with their work rather than micro-managing.
This claim has now also been backed up by The Times, who state that Postecoglou gives the various departments such as medical, sports science and analysis, ‘room to breathe’ with the Australian said to recognise the value of expertise.

In fact, one unnamed Spurs insider is quoted as saying about Postecoglou: “He was personable and polite, but clear. The main takeaway is you’re either on board or you’re not. He’s not going to pander to anyone.”
The Times add that the conversations the new Tottenham head coach has had with the players and staff so far have been ‘brisk and low on small talk, but genuine’.

Postecoglou comes across as someone who is a straight-talker and extremely authentic. It appears like the Australian is happy to maintain a distance from the squad and allow his assistant coaches to develop a more direct relationship with the players.
