Leeds United could now struggle to bring Manchester United winger Amad Diallo to Elland Road after he suffered an injury against Arsenal.
Leeds United linked with Manchester United winger Amad Diallo
The Mirror reported last month that Leeds United are interested in signing Amad Diallo from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
The report claimed that the West Yorkshire club want to bring the £20 million winger to Elland Road on a loan deal.
Leeds will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League
Jack Harrison and Wilfried Gnonto could leave Leeds after their relegation, so the Whites are looking at Diallo as a potential replacement out wide, according to a report.
Injured against Arsenal
Diallo is part of the Manchester United pre-season squad at the moment and was in action against Arsenal on Saturday.
The Ivory Coast international winger suffered an injury and left the MetLife Stadium on crutches, according to The Manchester Evening News.
The report has claimed that Diallo suffered a twisted ankle.
The winger came on at half time for Manchester United against Arsenal.
Diallo went down after around 10 minutes into his introduction to the match.
The Manchester Evening News has reported that there was nobody near Diallo when he suffered the injury.
“Amad went into a medical room at the MetLife Stadium to get treatment and emerged on crutches with strapping on his ankle,” states the report.
“He was taken back to United’s dressing room on a buggy.”
It is not clear at the moment how bad the injury was for Diallo, but it is certainly worrying for Leeds in their quest to sign the winger.
The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Sunderland from Manchester United.
The Ivorian star made 29 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Championship for the Black Cats last season.
Diallo scored 14 goals and gave three assists in those games.
