The Chicago Cubs will get what many might consider a needed off day for the bats on Friday. Due to inclement weather in the St. Louis area, the game has been postponed. The game will be made up as a part of a split doubleheader on July 13.
Due to inclement weather in the area, tonight’s game has been postponed.
It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on July 13th.
The game was originally pushed back to 7:55 p.m. CDT on Friday before weather failed to clear up. Now, the Cubs will have a five-game series before the All-Star break due to the postponement. St. Louis is expecting clear skies during the day on Saturday but storms at night, clouding tomorrow’s national broadcast as well.
There could be a doubleheader on Sunday depending on how the weather acts. The two-day rest period would be appreciated, but then it is a sprint before the team’s next off day (nine games in eight days).
Nonetheless, the real loss is having to wait another day to see Shota Imanaga and his league-leading ERA take the mound for the first time against the St. Louis Cardinals.
If tomorrow’s game is played, first pitch is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. CDT on FOX.
