‘Great news’ Panthers Foundation partners with SEDA Group.

Panthers Foundation is thrilled to announce a new partnership with SEDA Group (SEDA), a leader in applied learning.

With a shared commitment to providing positive outcomes for people and communities and 18 years of experience delivering sport-integrated learning, Panthers is excited to have SEDA support the club’s growing list of Panthers Foundation education programs.

The Panthers Sport & Business Program, powered by SEDA, is an innovative tertiary program offering a unique opportunity for young adults to learn from industry experts, right here at Panthers. The one-year, dual diploma program is designed to equip students with the skills, networks and knowledge to set them up for success in a variety of career paths.

The program will allow students to:

  • Take part in Panthers gameday and community experiences
  • Work on real-time projects aligned with the strategic objectives of the Panthers
  • Hear from guest speakers and key Panthers personnel
  • Access industry-leading facilities and resources
  • Immerse themselves in a professional sporting environment to develop insights into current and future career opportunities
  • Upon successful completion, have access to educational pathways through a wide variety of providers and courses nationally, the vast majority with credits or advanced standing*
  • Dual qualifications comprising SIS50321 Diploma of Sport and BSB50120 Diploma of Business

Upon successful completion, students will have the opportunity to move into further study with one of SEDA’s higher education partners or transition into the workforce, equipped with the knowledge and attributes for a successful future.

Panthers Rugby League CEO Matt Cameron said the club is proud to be expanding the Panthers Foundation contribution to education with this post-secondary offering.

“Panthers is excited to partner with SEDA Group and we believe this collaboration will bring substantial benefits to both our organisation and the students,” he said.

“We look forward to students taking part in Panthers gameday and community experiences, while working on real-time projects and gaining a great understanding of a professional sporting environment.”

Nick Hannett, CEO of SEDA Group, noted the value the Panthers will bring to the program.

“The Panthers facilities are first-class. The club has built an incredible culture of success that is truly anchored in their local community and is the benchmark of sporting clubs around Australia. For our students to learn in this environment is an incredible opportunity,” he said.

“This will be our fifth program in NSW, and we are incredibly proud that it will be in partnership with the Panthers.”

Applications are now open for the first intake of the new program in February 2025. Prospective students require Year 12 completion (or equivalent) and to complete a pre-enrolment process prior to enrolling.

Students and families are encouraged to attend an information session to hear directly from SEDA, the Panthers, and current students from existing Sport & Business Programs.
