Seattle now has the extra depth it needs at quarterback ahead of training camp, at the expense of an undrafted free defensive tackle.
The Seattle Seahawks are set to hit the field for their three day mandatory minicamp starting Tuesday, and when they do so they will have the services of three quarterbacks on the roster.
Earlier reports had indicated that the Hawks had agreed to terms with quarterback PJ Walker, a seven year veteran who has started nine games for the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns during his career. However, at that time it was unknown how Seattle would make room on the roster for Walker, a question that has now been answered as the team made the addition of Walker official.
In order to create a roster spot to sign Walker the team waived undrafted free agent defensive tackle Buddha Jones with an injury designation. As a result of the injury designation, should Jones clear waivers he will revert to injured reserve, where he will remain until he is recovered or until he is released with an injury settlement.
