Report: Everton could now sign ‘wonderful’ player permanently next summer, he has been compared to Kylian Mbappe.

Everton could sign Arnaut Danjuma permanently next summer.

That’s according to The Athletic, who have reported that Villarreal haven’t inserted an option or obligation to buy in his contract, however a permanent move could be explored if the loan goes well.

Six months after Tottenham Hotspur hijacked their move for Danjuma, Everton have now confirmed the Dutchman’s arrival on a season-long loan deal.

The 26-year-old netted only one goal in the Premier League last season after only making one start for Spurs, however he could be in for a more regular spot in the Toffees’ starting line-up this season.

Danjuma joined Villarreal for €25 million (£21.5m) from Bournemouth in 2021 and the Spanish outfit reportedly included a £64m buyout clause in his contract. However, it is very unlikely that Everton would have to cough up such a fee if they were to keep him permanently.

Despite Danjuma’s struggles in North London, the forward was praised on his Spurs debut for his ‘wonderful’ start by Alan Shearer, while he Netherlands international was also put in the same category Kylian Mbappe by his agent Michael Jarman – a promising sign for Everton.

Where will Arnaut Danjuma play for Everton?

Arnaut Danjuma is likely to have been brought in to play on the wing for Everton, especially if Demarai Gray leaves Goodison Park this summer.

The forward can be a huge attacking threat and will bring more creativity to the line-up, with Dwight McNeil currently the only other option out wide.

However, Danjuma has previously played as a number nine and has shown he is perfectly capable of taking up that striker role – which will be very useful given Everton’s lack of depth up front.

Sean Dyche’s side will be eager to bring in a striker or two this summer, however the former Bournemouth attacker could potentially play up top if Dominic Calvert-Lewin is sidelined.
