Ned Long
Collingwood’s Mid-Season recruit, Ned Long has returned to full training this week after completing a program to rehabilitate a soleus injury in his calf.
The 21-year-old is expected to be available for selection this week.
Oleg Markov
Oleg Markov will be available for Saturday’s game against the Gold Coast SUNS.
Having sustained a back spasm prior to the side’s Round 14 match against North Melbourne, the 28-year-old completed training over the BYE week and got through pain free.
Brody Mihocek
Brody Mihocek has recovered from the hamstring strain he sustained in Round Eight.
Mihocek completed a high level of training over the BYE week will be available for selection for this week’s match.
Scott Pendlebury
Scott Pendlebury has overcome the partial tendon tear in his left bicep.
The midfielder has completed all required rehab and dynamic work in the gym which focused on rebuilding strength and movement in his shoulder and elbow.
The 36-year-old will return to full training this week and is expected to return for this week’s match against the SUNS.TO BE ASSESSED THIS WEEK:
Jordan De Goey:
Jordan De Goey is progressing well from an acute abdominal tendon tear.
Over the BYE week, the midfielder completed high level running modules, including an increase in speed and change of direction work.
This week De Goey needs to complete contact training, including tackling, and will be assessed to determine his availability for Saturday’s game.
Joe Richards:
Joe Richards has cleared his rehab program for his foot injury.
Richards has completed high end running and kicking movements separately from the group.
He will move into contact drills this week and will be assessed to determine his availability for Saturday’s game.
OTHER UPDATES:
Aiden Begg
Having sustained a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injury, Aiden Begg remains on the AFL Inactive List and will sit out for the remainder of the AFL Season.
The 21-year-old is progressing well through his rehab program and has been able to complete gym work. He has progressed out of a knee brace and will continue strength work.
Josh Carmichael
Josh Carmichael continues to work through the AFL’s concussion protocols and continues to be supported by the Club and AFL medical teams.
Mason Cox
Mason Cox has cleared the AFL concussion protocols and continues to focus on rehabilitating his knee.
The 33-year-old has returned to the gym, undergoing gymnastic floor exercises, with the aim of regaining strength in his knee.
Cox is expected to return to outdoor training this week to complete his first running sessions. He is expected to return to the game in three to five weeks’ time.
Jamie Elliott
Jamie Elliott’s vascular issue is progressing well, with the forward improving his quality of running symptom free.
The 31-year-old will commence a mini pre-season training block, which will see him in non-contact training for another one to two weeks. He will also return to team drills in a non-contact fashion.
Elliott is expected to return in three to five weeks.
Dan McStay
Dan McStay is progressing well as he continues to work through his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rehab.
The 28-year-old continued training at a high level over the BYE week and he has been cleared to return to full team training.
He will need to complete a block of work during full team training over the next few weeks before he returns to the field.
Tom Mitchell
Following a minor procedure to address the plantar fasciitis in his left foot, Tom Mitchell is successfully walking pain free and is close to a return to running.
The 31-year-old has been completing pool exercises to strengthen his foot.
He is expected to return in three to five weeks’ time.
Wil Parker
Wil Parker will spend some time on the sidelines after experiencing knee soreness during the Pies’ VFL Round 12 match against North Melbourne. Scans confirmed a slight meniscus tear to his knee.
The 21-year-old has successfully had surgery and is currently working through a standard rehab plan.
He is expected to return within four to six weeks.
Oscar Steene
Oscar Steene continues to work through his rehab program for his toe injury.
He has taken positive steps over the BYE week having commenced a running program and this week will progress into straight line running.
He is expected to return within four to six weeks.
