Michael Harris declares his return to the field after suffering a brutal hamstring injury last month.

Michael Harris II hasn’t appeared in a  game for the Braves since June 14th when he suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain.

That’s a significant injury that sometimes can take up to a couple of months to recover from, and the Braves aren’t going to take any chances, considering they’ve already lost their two biggest stars — Ronald Acuña Jr. and Spencer Strider — for the season. However, Harris appears to be recovering quicker than most. He’s already begun doing some baseball drills, and the latest report from Grant McAuely paints the picture of a player who could be nearing a return.

Michael Harris says he’s felt great running, and that once he’s able to sprint, a rehab assignment will come soon after.

The Braves offense seems to have found some life over the last couple of games, and a lot of help could be on its way.

Providing there are no setbacks, Michael Harris should return after the All-Star break. Which is followed by the trade deadline, and everyone expects Alex Anthopoulos to make significant changes. Nine games back in the division may feel like an impossible mountain to climb now, but with the way the Braves have pitched all season, winning games will start to feel effortless if the offense can start performing up to its potential.
