Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara is the man Leeds United are reportedly looking at in order to replace Tyler Adams, who is strongly linked with a move to Chelsea.

One game down for Daniel Farke, Leeds are still some way from considering their side complete for the remainder of the Championship.

Tyler Adams played no part in Leeds’ opener at home to Cardiff City, despite being eager to get on the pitch and chat with standout talent Archie Gray.

Adams to Chelsea?

The Athletic have reported this week that Leeds’ USMNT ace Adams is a target for Chelsea, with Mauricio Pochettino keen to bolster his midfield setup.

Adams, following relegation, possesses a £20million release clause in his contract that the Blues would be keen to trigger, as they step up their pursuit of the 24-year-old this week.

Mail Plus are now claiming that Leeds are set to search for an Adams replacement, potentially placing their focus on signing Rangers’ Glen Kamara.

The Finland international was missing from Rangers’ first game of the season due to confirmed transfer talks away from Ibrox, as Mick Beale said:

“I expect two or three more to go, (Fashion) Sakala and Kamara are away from the group at the moment, discussing some things, so there might be some news in the coming days, they won’t be involved tomorrow.”

Whoever comes in to ‘replace’ Adams can’t be of the same profile as the US man, because we don’t need that sort of player.

With the signing of Ethan Ampadu, we’ve already replaced Adams, so we need someone who can best partner Ampadu.

Signing Kamara from Rangers would be a very smart way of doing just that, knowing what he brings to the table as a player in possession.

Physically robust in possession, his craft on the ball could be huge for us in terms of breaking down teams.
