Leeds United have been linked with a move for Swansea City striker Joel Piroe as doubts persist around a move for Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.

According to the Athletic, Leeds United are working on a deal to bring Joel Piroe to Elland Road before the end of the transfer window.

The report claims that Swansea value the 24-year-old Dutch striker up to £10m which means Leeds United will have to dip into the £20m cash pot from the sale of Tyler Adams.

Leeds United could also face competition from Southampton and Leicester City for the ex-PSV striker, who is in the final 12 months of his Swansea contract after netting 41 Championship goals over the last two seasons.

Rangers fans will have one eye on what happens with Joel Piroe here for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, Rangers were being linked with a move for Joel Piroe heading into the summer transfer window as the club looked to bolster their frontline.

With Alfredo Morelos set to leave Ibrox and Kemar Roofe unreliable as a routine fitness doubt, investment was expected in the forward line.

And Rangers have got that investment this summer, with a combined £10.5m reportedly sent on Cyriel Dessers and Danilo, just not in the direction of Joel Piroe.

Secondly, Leeds United are also the side most prominently linked to Rangers’ Finnish international midfielder Glen Kamara this summer.

There is said to be extensive interest in the midfielder with Rangers holding out for £5.5m and as of yet, no club willing to splash the cash to sign the ex-Arsenal academy star.

Despite reports that Leeds United were closing in on a move, Rangers manager Michael Beale moved to rubbish these claims in the aftermath of the Champions League draw with PSV.

It leaves Glen Kamara’s situation up in the air and as Leeds United are also linked to Joel Piroe, the Championship side could be about to splash around £15m on two players before the window closes.
