Tottenham are reportedly on the verge of signing £40m David Moyes target on transfer deadline day but West Ham will have the last laugh.

West Ham target Brennan Johnson is set to join Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day, according to a report from football journalist Rudy Galetti.

However, Hammers boss David Moyes brought Mohammed Kudus to the London Stadium instead for around £38 million (Daily Mail).

And with Spurs closing in on Johnson, I truly believe that West Ham have got by far the better deal…

Tottenham reportedly on verge of signing £40m David Moyes target on deadline day but West Ham have last laugh

Rudy Galetti has taken to Twitter to provide an update on Johnson’s current situation at the City Ground.

The journalist tweeted that a deal to take the 22-year-old Forest man to Tottenham will be done within the next few hours

Now, whilst johnson is a very good player, I strongly feel like West Ham have got the better player in Kudus.

The 23-year-old star bagged 27 goals and 12 assists in 87 games for Ajax whilst Johnson has the same assists and two more goals…BUT in 22 more games than the Ghanaian (Transfermarkt).

It’s also worth noting that many of Johnson’s goals and assists have come in England’s second tier, whilst Kudus has registered his goal contributions at the very highest level with Ajax.

The new West Ham signing is also more versatile and has the experience of winning two league titles – something that the Forest man obviously doesn’t have.

Kudus works out at £2 million cheaper than Johnson, and he’s by far the more explosive, pacy, clinical and an all-round better player than the Spurs bound attacking midfielder.

So whilst Johnson will be a good signing for Tottenham on transfer deadline day, I still think that West Ham will have the last laugh.
