Sheffield Wednesday warned they must be ‘at 200%’ for Leeds United test.

Sheffield Wednesday boss Xisco Munoz has warned his side cannot afford any slip-ups when they take on Leeds United at Elland Road today. The Owls make the short journey across Yorkshire with no points to show from their four Championship games to date.

They come up against a Leeds side boosted by a 4-3 win over Ipswich Town last time out and some new signings which have rallied Daniel Farke’s outfit after a difficult start to the season. Joel Piroe scored on his debut at Portman Road, while Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra were recalled to the side after missing much of the early part of the season.

It means few give the Owls much of a chance of springing a surprise today, but Munoz is well aware that Yorkshire pride is at stake. And he will make sure his side is fully focused on the challenges Leeds present – as well as the Elland Road atmosphere.

“We can’t have one moment where we relax in the game,” he said. “We need to be at 200% and my job is to try and give the players confidence.

“We need to show big attention for 95 minutes, work hard and put in a good performance. There will be moments in the game where we won’t have the ball but we have to find the balance between attack and defence. It’s an important game for us. I know it’s important for our fans.”
