Callum Wilson f Newcastle United suffered a humiliating incident when Kyle Walker nudged him during England training.
Many England players, including Newcastle United’s very own Kieran Trippier, were shocked by this unusual nutmeg.
Newcastle’s number nine, Callum Wilson, was significantly outperformed by Kyle Walker in a normal Rondo session, when two players are in the centre and their teammates in a circle throw the ball around to each other with one-touch passes.
The Manchester City player who helped his team win the Treble also nutmegged Wilson while shouting “watch them legs” just before doing so, as reported by England on YouTube.
The England players were so shocked that they were yelling, but Wilson found the humor in it all. Maybe it’ll come up on Michail Antonio’s podcast?
However, Wilson was nutmegged, and Trippier responded as such before the Newcastle striker smiled and joked with Walker (7.59 seconds into the video, which you can watch below).
Response to Kyle Walker’s verbal assault on Callum Wilson
After the nutmeg, Trippier exclaimed, “Oooh, he’s got it as well,” pointing towards the cameraman. “He has it. Carry on. Move forward.
“It’s from halfway across the field. Wilson said, laughing, “Hey, don’t do that to me ever (again),” and then he hugged Walker.
Will Wilson compete with Scotland?
It’s quite challenging for a striker to secure consistent playing time on the international scene with Harry Kane leading the attack for England.
Wilson will undoubtedly get some playing time given that Tuesday’s epic match against Scotland was a friendly.
Yes, the two teams will compete, but Gareth Southgate is still free to make as many adjustments as he likes.
