After being recalled to Europe, Kemar Roofe must ease Rangers’ strike problems.

After being left off the team for the Champions League qualifying, has been added to Michael Beale’s Rangers’ European roster for the Europa League campaign.

The Jamaican forward, who was only able to make four appearances in the Scottish Premiership last season due to injury, has played in three of the Light Blues’ first four domestic games this year.

Kemar Roofe on the Super 6 Podcast: Racism, Rangers and winter coats | Football News | Sky SportsAfter the massive turnover at Ibrox this summer, which saw Sam Lammers, Danilo, Cyriel Dessers, and Abdallah Sima join the ranks as attackers, it is a little unexpected to see Roofe playing such a significant position in Beale’s team this year.

However, none of Glasgow’s new attacking alternatives have been able to score more than one goal in the early parts of the domestic season, while Dessers is still looking for his first Scottish Premiership goal.

Roofe was subsequently called into action following his injury, netting in the victory against Ross County before having his goal in the Old Firm derby controversially disallowed due to an alleged foul by Dessers in the build-up.
