If any Leeds United supporters are worried that 49ers Enterprises has acquired control of the team with the intention of depleting its finances, Larry Nance Jr. has made an effort to reassure them.
After their long-awaited summer takeover, 49ers Enterprises do not plan on stealing money from Leeds United and running, according to investor Larry Nance Jr. The NBA player considers himself a supporter of the Whites and is one of many individuals who have invested money in the venture led by Paraag Marathe.
Since Enterprises fully assumed control over the summer, Nance Jr. has been one of the investors who has been the most outspoken and openly supportive. For instance, he covered the cost of fans’ drinks at The Old Peacock on Elland Road before the West Bromwich Albion match last month.

He recently gave an interview to Leeds, That!, a Whites podcast, where he discussed his origins and how he got connected with United. One of the concerns was on how long the 49ers squad could be prepared to wait for Leeds to make their way back to Europe.
Nance Jr. said, “Hopefully, I’ll still be here in 30 years.” “I’ll be here, though my beard will be a little more grey. It was discussed, and I’m certain that the folks [at the top] are who I believe in. We have already met and spoken.

“I think I know everything there is to know about football, who we should sign, how we should play, who we should trigger the press on the other team. I think I know everything, but realistically I know I don’t. “I’m just a fan that thinks he knows everything. I do truly trust the guys at the top to make the right decisions and we’ve had conversations and our visions are aligned.” The New Orleans Pelicans basketballer said he had several prior opportunities to invest in other American vehicles taking on English football clubs, but declined. He insists the 49ers group is here for the long haul or he would not be involved.
