James Giles. Wolves Rob. Edwards, . Since the flying left-wing back joined the Town this summer, it has been spoken a lot already.
What better time to resurrect that story than on Saturday afternoon when the former employers of the two are in town?
Giles is trying to outdo his own team when Wolves comes to Kenilworth Road as the Hatters look to pick up their first Premier League points.
The 23-year-old said, “I’m looking forward to it, but I don’t want to overhype it just because it’s Wolves.”
“Wolves are a club I was at since I was seven, it’s a club I hugely respect. They gave me a platform to be the player I am today, and I will always appreciate that. It’s a case of it being another game, and unfortunately for them I want to beat them this weekend!
“It’s going to be massive test as the Premier League an unforgiving division.
“I know some of their players, having trained a bit with them this summer. There’s no hiding that they have some great players and I watched their first half against Liverpool as we were travelling to the game on Saturday, and in the first half they were outstanding.
“The Premier League is relentless, so we know that it’ll be a challenge, but we will prepare for that. It’s important we respect our opponents and then look for ways to hurt them.”
Saturday will see Kenilworth Road open its doors for the second time in the Premier League this season and Giles wants to repay the Town faithful for their incredible support that has been so evident in the opening four matches of the campaign.
“The support is massive – I think the fans know that and it’s something we’re also asking for from them,” he says.
Because of the club’s incredible rise from non-league to the Premier League, the stands have been packed even for away games, and you can see the fans enjoying it.
We want to offer the fans what they deserve, which is to stay here. I believe that we can accomplish this goal by working together to turn Kenilworth Road into a true fortress and make it difficult for teams to visit.
