‘I have got to thank Eddie Howe’ – Postecoglou opens up on Celtic move
Despite the desire of Newcastle United supporters to see the new acquisition in action, Eddie Howe has resisted the urge to throw Lewis Hall into the deep end.
Hall joined Newcastle on a temporary basis during the summer transfer period, but will sign a permanent contract with the club for £28 million the following year.
The 19-year-old has come with an eye on the future, but it’s clear that the new man’s supporters are eager to see what he’s capable of.
Hall has not yet played for Newcastle, though. The left-back, one of three youngsters on the bench at the San Siro on Tuesday night, had not been used as a substitute in the Magpies’ previous three games.
However, with games coming thick and fast with Sheffield United the next opponent on Sunday, Toon supporters are speculating as to whether we might see Hall in action at Bramall Lane.
The most recent statements made by Howe, however, imply that might not occur.
Lewis Hall’s performance in training has Eddie Howe happy as Newcastle keeps “building him up.”
Howe addressed the media prior to the matchup with Sheffield United. When may we expect to see Hall make his Newcastle United debut? he was asked.
Lewis hasn’t played any preseason minutes, the man said.
He is an excellent prospect. He is training quite well, but we are putting him on the rise. He is once more vying for the starting position.
