This week, Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers take a short break from the Premier League to focus on the Carabao Cup.
Both Villa and Wolves are competing in the third round of the competition in an effort to advance to the round of 16. On Tuesday night, Wolves host Ipswich Town of the Championship, and on Wednesday night, Villa host Everton in an all-Premier League matchup at Villa Park.
After a 1-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday, Unai Emery’s Villa team is just now entering the cup after receiving a bye for the first two rounds due to their participation in the Europa Conference League this year. Wolves, on the other hand, made it through to the second round and defeated Blackpool 5-0 there.
