Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho has a rocketing transfer value after a terrific 12 months.
This time last year Alejandro Garnacho had still not made his first start for Manchester United.
Garnacho’s first start came in a 3-0 home victory over Sheriff Tiraspol at Old Trafford on October 27 last year.
Since then a lot has changed, with Garnacho now a regular in the Argentina squad, hoping to earn his fourth cap this upcoming international break.
Alejandro Garnacho value soars
Alejandro Garnacho has established himself as a first team regular at Manchester United, the first player from the 2022 FA Youth Cup winning squad to do so.
He has gone on to make 46 first team appearances, scoring six goals and contributing five assists. Many of his games have been from the bench.
Garnacho is still only 19-years-old, and has a big future ahead of him for club and country.
The teenager signed a new contract earlier this year too, committing his future at the club until 2028.
The CIES Football Observatory now calculate Alejandro Garnacho’s transfer value at just over £50 million.
Only one teenager is valued higher, Barcelona midfielder Gavi, at more than £100 million, while Brighton striker Evan Ferguson is calculated to be worth an equal amount to Garnacho.
Manchester United may feel Garnacho is worth even more
Manchester United paid less than £1 million to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Atletico Madrid in 2020.
Now with an estimated value of £50 million, Manchester United may feel he is worth even more than that, if another big club came calling.
Garnacho’s future is locked into United, however, it is important to continue qualifying for the Champions League every year, to ensure he is not tempted to look elsewhere.
It is also up to the teenager to keep proving himself, and not rest on his laurels. We have seen other young players get to this point, and then fail to kick on, Federico Macheda and Adnan Januzaj are two names which spring to mind.
