With ever more frantic rumours and speculative links continuing to swirl around, one alledged Everton target has cast doubts about his future.

That player is Leeds United’s unlikely named Crysencio Summerville, who is ready to push for a move away from Elland Road this summer.

Everton have been tentativally linked with Summerville along with just about every other Leeds forward since the Yorkshire club were relegated at the end of last season.

The Dutchman is one of those Leeds stars and he has been strongly claimed to be on the Blues wish list as Sean Dyche and company search for affordable attacking talent and goalscorers.

Summerville played sixteen times last campaign for Leeds, four as a substitute, and contributed four goals from a variety of attacking positions.

His best role seemed to be operating as a left-sided forward where he grabbed three of his goals and one assist in four games.

He is a young 21-year-old who likes to dribble and cut inside and had previously impressed at Dutch club Den Haag before Leeds made their move to bring him to England.

While there are potentially many other players who could be on the Toffees radar (although we don’t actually know given the usual total silence and lack of transfer market activity) Summerville might be being considered as a possible option.

The combination of his age and versatility of the the player is perhaps of interest to Everton as they try and balance the need for immediate contribution and a longer-term worth of having a young player whose potential sell-on value will increase.

The bewildering number of names and varied potential signings, also indicate the lack of any strong and coherent evidence of where the club are going with their transfer strategy, once again.

Until Everton actually get out there and start making some concrete moves in the transfer market, we won’t have a clue as to whether any of these players are likely to be wearing the brand new royal blue home kit in August.
