Former Wisconsin edge rusher Jordan Mayer announced Friday that he will be heading to Penn State after spending one season with the Badgers. Mayer will have four years of eligibility with the Nittany Lions.

Mayer, who is orginially from Clariton, Pa., joined Wisconsin as a three-star prospect as part of the 2023 recruting class. He was ranked as the 84th-best edge rusher in the nation and the #19 prospect from Pennsylvania. Mayer is coming off a redshirt season, and did not appear in any games this season for the Badgers.

Mayer will be joining a Penn State defense that led the nation in sacks in 2023, but will be looking to replace All-American Chop Robinson and Adissa Isaac, who led the team with 7.5 sacks and 16 TFLs.

Mayer follows former Ohio State wide receiver Justin Flemming and kicker Chase Meyer as the third player to join Penn State via the transfer portal this offseason.
