James Hook believes Warren Gatland needs someone like Morgan Morris in his squad for the tour of Australia.

The Ospreys No. 8 has been in fine form in recent seasons, picking up his third player of the match in his last nine matches in Saturday’s win over the Dragons.

The arguments for not picking Morris seem to be diminishing week by week, with Hook and fellow former Wales fly-half Nicky Robinson the latest to voice their support for the 25-year-old.

“For the last three or four years, he’s been brilliant,” said Hook on Scrum V. “From standing starts, he gets the Ospreys on the front-foot. For a big man, he’s pretty quick.

“His consistency at regional level has been outstanding for the last two or three years. For me, he has to be on that summer tour of Australia.

“Aaron Wainwright played well so he would start. But you’ve got to have a player like him in your squad.”
