PSG striker Hugo Ekitike has not agreed on terms with Everton with a move to Goodison Park looking unlikely, according to Le Parisien.
The French media outlet reported on Saturday (19 August) that the Toffees are yet to even agree a fee with the Ligue 1 champions with him open to joining Frankfurt.
Sports Zone reported on their Twitter account that Everton had even tabled a bid for the 21-year-old French striker.
The Toffees need another striker this summer and by the looks of it, Che Adams is the man they’re set to get.
The 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa is a clear wake-up call that things are far from right at Goodison Park and changes need to be made.
Ekitike is at PSG, a club where he won the league and one that expects to challenge for the Champions League.
Should he move to Everton, it will be a side that’s battling relegation and crippled with financial issues.
Thus, it makes little sense for him to even be open to this move and it will come as a surprise if the Toffees succeed in signing him.
Adams seems to be the most likely option and they’re unlikely to rope in another striker if they bring him home.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are now in a transfer race with Juventus and Napoli to sign an ex-Premier League attacker.
